# `Kombu.Transport.Virtual.Exchange.Topic`

Topic exchange routing based on dot-separated words with `*` and `#` wildcards.

# `key_to_pattern`

```elixir
@spec key_to_pattern(String.t()) :: String.t()
```

Converts a topic routing key (containing `.`, `*`, `#`) into a regex pattern string `^...$`.
Matches `kombu.transport.virtual.exchange.TopicExchange.key_to_pattern`.

```

Matches `string` against regex `pattern`.
